Muslims & Friends Sing Out Against The War
Millions around the world who have worked tirelessly to promote a peaceful resolution to the Iraq crisis might be feeling somewhat depressed now that war has actually started. But several artists have stepped in to provide a musical soundtrack to the movement, hoping to buoy spirits and keep the momentum going. After all, what's a good war protest without a good war protest song? Leading the pack is Yusuf Islam, a.k.a. the former Cat Stevens, who sang a special version of his old hit, "Peace Train" - marking the first time he has sung his old material since becoming a Muslim in the 1970's. "As a member of humanity and as a Muslim," said Islam, "this is my contribution to the call for a peaceful solution to the dangerous path some world leaders today seem to be taking.
