I was recently investigated for being a malingerer, someone who fakes or exaggerates their disability.  Nail Patella Syndrome is complex, an invisible illness and exhausting.

Someone I knew from my internet e-group of other nail-patella syndrome patients committed suicide today. I have a profound sense of grief and shock that compelled me to write. Nail Patella Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder involving the bones, joints and connective tissue. Patients may have problems due to limitation of joint mobility, dislocation or both, especially at the elbow and knee where osteoarthritis may eventually occur. Renal impairment is present in approximately 30-50% of cases. Recent evidence suggests that open angle Glaucoma is also part of Nail Patella Syndrome.
