UK Trial Results On Value Of Cannabis For Multiple Sclerosis Patients

Researchers funded by the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) have found mixed evidence about the value of cannabis-derived treatments for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) but conclude that such treatments may be of benefit for some patients.

The researchers found little objective evidence that cannabis benefits people with MS but, subjectively, a majority of patients felt cannabis improved some of their symptoms.

Talk Show Host's Detroit Arrest for Medical Marijuana Highlights Unfairness of Laws

Talk show host Montel Williams, who uses medical marijuana to treat the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, could have received up to a year in state prison as a result of being caught with a small amount of marijuana in Detroit's Metro Airport Monday night.

According to news reports, Williams was detained briefly after security screeners found that he was carrying a small amount of marijuana. He reportedly was fined $100 and allowed to board his flight to New York, where his nationally syndicated talk show is taped. A statement released by Williams' office indicated that he used marijuana on the advice of his physician to treat the chronic, constant pain caused by MS.

Presidential Candidate Who Would Arrest Medical Marijuana Patients Admits He Used Marijuana

U.S. Sen. John Edwards (D-NC), who has previously said it would be "irresponsible" for the federal government not to arrest cancer and AIDS patients using medical marijuana under the provisions of state medical marijuana laws, acknowledged on national television tonight that he has used marijuana in the past.

I have yet to decide on a suitable democratic candidate for the 2004 presidential election. Yet, I am leaning towards supporting any Republocrat who is firmly committed to universal health care. I would prefer that such a candidate was a Dem, however, this is such a crisis in our modernized American society, I am willing to compromise. I hope the doctors can change their mindset and endorse universal health care. I did a little research and found this organization Physicians for a National Health Program

Oregon: Land of Wet Dreams

A friend and I were trying to come up with clever bumperstickers during a work break, many years ago. For some reason we came up with

Oregon: Land of Wet Dreams

We worked outside in the parks department in a small city in Orgeon and could relate to the wet weather. Since we were both transplants from the east coast in our mid 20's, it seemed like an appropriate, yet uncouth, bumpersticker. I told a printer friend of mine our little saying and he loved it . A few weeks later our dream bumpersticker was given life.

One friday afternoon at Squirrels, a cozy. earthy tavern in Corvallis, Oregon my frend handed me 50 newly printed bumperstickers. "Lets see if you can sell these Annie, and you buy the next pitcher." my friend suggested. In minutes I was swarmed with customers. I sold them for a pittance, probably a dollar or two. But before long I had enough dollars to splurge on a luscious squirrel burger and pints of beer.

Bumperstickers came up in a morning conversation today and it occurred to me to google "Oregon Land of wet dreams" and see what pops up. The only hit was for here, a fun site from a fellow Oregonian. He has compiled state nicknames and Land of Wet Dreams is listed for Oregon, along with the nicknames: Hard Case state, the Beaver State, Web-foot State, and the Sunset State. (scroll down for Oregon).

Being from the Big Apple, in the Empire State, I prefer the maritime climate of Stumptown ( aka the Rose City), Corn Valley and the Emerald City, thank you.
