A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I had called my Congressman, Greg Walden, to get assistance getting my much needed prescriptions. I received a phone call from his office and was told, by a congressional aide, that I could still use my prescription drug card from last year and that I had $194 left on it and that I could use it up until March 15. So there!!! I didn't need to worry about paying full price for my meds all along. Well the joy from that myth lasted a briefcouple of hours whenthe same congressional aide called again. I was told that I couldn't use last years card because i already enrolled in a new plan for 2006. They were confused!! Bottom line is I got incorrect advice from my congressman's office. They don't even understand this crappy piece of legislation. I did receive confirmation from my medicare supplemental provider that I am enrolled in the correct plan now. They explained that they didnt receive my income verification from Medicare until January 23, 2006. Pretty late in the game......
