Being Sicilian, I have seen a few Italian hand gestures in my time. But, I was embarrassed by the recent obscene gesture of Supreme Court Justice Scalia. A judge should not be displaying public signs of disrespectfulness, contemp, and superiority. He displayed a big "fuck you" similar to another "Italian gesture" of contempt; the slapping of the arm above the elbow while thrusing the fist upward.
