Song in my head: What if God smoked Cannabis.................................................via Skippy

Study Finds No Cancer-Marijuana Connection WaPo LINK
The largest study of its kind has unexpectedly concluded that smoking marijuana, even regularly and heavily, does not lead to lung cancer.
The new findings "were against our expectations," said Donald Tashkin of the University of California at Los Angeles, a pulmonologist who has studied marijuana for 30 years.
"We hypothesized that there would be a positive association between marijuana use and lung cancer, and that the association would be more positive with heavier use," he said. "What we found instead was no association at all, and even a suggestion of some protective effect."
I take caution in putting much weight on just one study...but once again I see medical marijuana as a superior alternative to chronic pain than opiate based narcotics and anti-inflammatory medications. And for someone like me with chronic long term health problems it is a safer alternative, and way less toxic on the liver and kidneys. That's one of the reasons I prefer living in a progressive state like Oregon. I have that medical choice. (and I don't have to pump my own gas or pay sales taxes)....Cannabis is also my pharmaceutical of choice for treatment of glaucoma in my right eye (my left eye is lazy), fibromyalgia, and a sleep disorder and is the perfect choice for my set of symptoms.
Oregon's Medical Marijuana Program has posted some interesting statistics regarding its program,
here. It's heartening to read that 2,151 Oregon doctors have signed the paperwork and supported their patient's choice in using alternative medications. 10,775 of us thank you.
