Chemical combo inactivates disease-causing prions

NEW YORK - French researchers report that a novel formulation of copper and hydrogen peroxide can inactivate infectious prions.
Senior investigator Dr. Sylvain Lehmann of Institute de Genetique Humaine du CNRS, Montpelier, was quoted as teling Reuters Health that, "Our results demonstrate the ability of copper combined with hydrogen peroxide to significantly reduce prion infectivity." FSnet Link
