More Californians back medical use of pot

Support among Californians for the use of medical marijuana is getting higher.

Back in 1996 -- when voters passed an initiative letting doctors recommend pot to their
patients -- 56 percent of those who went to the polls were in favor of the idea.

But now, according to a new Field poll, about 74 percent of Californians are in favor of legal protections for patients who use pot to treat a medical condition. | link |
