There's a chance of snow later this week. The temperatures in the gorge will be getting near freezing and keeping myself warm warm is possible thanks to an electric heater. I got $150 in heating assistance this year, however, last week I almost had my power shut off. I came up with
an additional $52 for a total payment to my power company of $202 in a month.

So, Trent Lott believes I should tap into the global warming reserves to heat my home.., via Bob Geiger:

“What is it we are not going to give people for free? Is there any limit? Is there any limit to the amount of money?” asked Lott, adding snidely “I thought we were having global warming.”

What a jerk. Low Income Heating Assistance hardly pays all my heating costs. And it didn't stop me from almost getting my power turned off. The assistance i get is paid directly to my account at the power company, so fraud is at a minimum. Besides, keeping our elderly and alter-abled warm is good citizenship. The empathy skills of some of these legislators is nonexistent and that is disturbing.
