Song in my head:

Happy 4 years blogging to me....

What I'm missing in cognitive ability, I make up with cuteness. Today this blog is 4 years old. So, I decided to share my picture. My original intent in writing this blog was to vent about the Iraq war and the effect trauma has on soldiers and their families after the tragedy of losing a loved one. I also wanted to save the world by writing about food saftey issues and demonstrate how our elected officialss do not care about public health issues. Since then I realized that it was more important to save my strength and energy to battle my own health issues instead of taking the codependent route. So, this blog has evolved from saving the world to trying to make people empathize with people with serious health issues and how it affects them. I wanted to put a face to the crisis of poor health care in this country and how it affects everyday people. I also wanted a place to gather my thoughts and practice writing to keep my brain exercised. Now, I realize I am hardly a fantastic writer. And certainly my ego isn't all wrapped up in being perfect. And I can never remember where to put commas. But that doesn't phase me. Mostly because I am now 45 years old and don't give a rat's ass what people think about me. Gawd, I never want to be 23 again. But if I made you stop and think and be compassionate to an alter-abled person then I am satisfied. OH, before I forget, I aslo wanted to change people's language from saying disabled to alter-abled. On that front I have failed. I do not spend any time promoting this blog and begging for permalinks. Every single one of the compassionate bloggers that have linked to me have done it for their own genuine reason and for that you made this wild and wacky woman grateful. Thank you. Mad Kane, Susie, Max, Libby, MaryScott, Wayne, Kevin, Skippy, Steve, and, The Talking Dog.
